Back to work and school with Virgo
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 | General information, astrologer's diary | No Comments
I haven’t posted anything all summer long. There are days when I have felt guilty about that; however, it is the first long break from writing columns I have taken in a decade or more… Today Mercury is retrograde in motion, that review period began August 20 and concludes September 12. Mercury and the Sun have their next meeting tomorrow, September 3, 2010. Their agenda will be set for the next two months—the pair meets in Virgo and that spells organization as well as taking care of details. After tomorrow, we naturally move forward with our ideas over the past month or so, because we have clarity about what we do not want. We cannot stop making choices just because Mercury is retrograde! We tend to catch our mistakes during the times when Mercury moves against the norm, which in itself is an optical illusion… but darn it feels, real here on planet Earth. However, note that tomorrow is a good day to send out promotional material, proposals and to renegotiate deals, projects etc. › Continue reading
Back to work
Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 | Current Planetary trends, General information | No Comments
April 22 is Earth Day this year. The Sun is in Taurus, the first earth sign of the Zodiac. The astrological and mythological words and concepts still permeate our lives. In my area it has been a beautiful sunny day—spring is well under way. I have been penning a Jupiter review, on and off for the past three months. Maybe now that Mercury is retrograde, I will find the time to get caught up and put those thoughts floating in my head onto virtual paper on my blog and website. Mercury retrograde periods are ideal for getting caught up, finishing tasks and handling matters you have neglected. To read more about Mercury, check out my annual review at http://www.astrologicallyspeaking.com/Mercury2010-earth.htm
I picked up Paulo Coelho’s latest book today, the writing about the four elements within the covers caught my attention—elements the building blocks of astrology. I look forward to reading it after I finish the Friday Night Knitting Club. As you may have gathered I moved about a month ago, and the new place is beginning to feel like home.
I have been paying a lot of attention to the Moon over the past four months. The new Moon takes places mid-month and the Full one at the end of the month. I am finding living to the rhythm of the lunar cycle rather rewarding. This new Moon on the 14th of April was in Aries and the Full one will be in Scorpio-time to begin new things, especially related to money and investments. I have been doing that now rather than back in February—Taurus energy of the Sun is rather materialistic, which makes it ideal for seeding something for steady growth. Will work on this topic in little instalments and might even write about investment timing as I am getting ready to join a women’s penny-stock investment group.
Inaugural Graduation Canadian Diploma Astrologers
Monday, December 14th, 2009 | General information | No Comments
I was in Toronto last week for the graduation ceremonies for the first Diploma Astrologers in Canada. The organization is called the Canadian Association for Astrological Education. I have been involved with them for 5-6 years now. There were seven graduates who had passed all the examination from basic to advanced, chart calculation, counselling skills and several electives including vocational, relationships, chart calculation and horary astrology. Most had spent at least five years in study.
I see this as an important milestone for astrology, and applaud both the new diploma astrologers as well as the nine teachers, who also received the diploma. We had to have been a practising astrologer for twenty years and a teacher with the CAAE for five years. I was honoured to be recognized with my peers for our significant contribution to both the CAAE and astrology in Canada. You will find the pictures and names at www.thecaae.com for the graduates.

The CAAE teachers

My diploma is hanging on my wall along with my ISAR certification— www.isarastrology.com — as a reminder that so many astrologers and organizations are working toward elevating the standards and setting new goals for our vocation and/or profession; astrology.
Blog upgrade
Thursday, May 7th, 2009 | Astrology for You, General information | No Comments
I upgraded the site May 7, 2009. It now has he latest version of WP. Upgrades and maintenance are ideal activity during Mercury retrograde. I must say reading those astrological symbols and glyphs is easier than reading code. Thank you for tech support Mike, it was easier than I dreaded. Mike designed the custom blog layout and functionality for me. Link to his site is at the bottom of the page. Please let me know if you find glitches on the site. Looks good at my end.
New blog

In the course of the past few weeks, Mike of Hilightpress designed the layout and look for my blog. Mike and I also worked together to create a new site for the Fraser Valley Astrological Guild –www.astrologyguild.com. Mike is such a delight to work with and the results are spectacular. I made the banner art for both blogs. Over the next few months I will learn how to manage this blog.
Now I have to decide what I am going to write on this blog. The first astrological posts will appear November 26. My monthly column will continue to published at www.astrologicallyspeaking.com
