Is Pluto in Sagittarius or Capricorn
Thursday, September 30th, 2010 | Ask Anne, Astrology for You | 1 Comment
I had an email question about the position of the planets, precession of the Zodiac, etc. from a reader in Australia. ”When astrologers talk of Pluto in tropical zodiac constellation Capricorn or Uranus in constellation Aries, do we combine this with the precession of Equinoxes, and say Pluto in constellation of Sagittarius, Uranus in constellation of Pisces? The short answer is no, we don’t combine.
Most western astrologers use the tropical zodiac, which marks the change of seasons. Sidereal and Vedic astrologers use the sidereal Zodiac, which adjusts the position of the planets by approximately 24 degrees (2010 adjustment). The signs of the sidereal zodiac approximately align with constellations of the same name. Neither measures the sky the way astronomy does. › Continue reading

I just finished my column on Venus with horoscopes, it is at www.astrologicallyspeaking.com/Venus2010.htm. The previous post on my blog talks about the Venus in Scorpio cycle in more detail. I haven’t actually written a horoscope since my Jupiter Review this Spring. Enjoy.
Venus Story 2010
Tuesday, September 21st, 2010 | Astrology for You, Current Planetary trends, Venus stories | No Comments
Venus moved into Scorpio September 8, and will move into the next Zodiacal sign of Sagittarius January 7, 2011. There is more to Venus’ travels this Season and next. Venus will return back to Libra November 7 for three weeks. Three weeks is the norm Venus visits a zodiacal sign. The delightful anomaly is when Venus spends extra time in a sign—since 1962 this particular cycle has been exclusively in Scorpio. This year, Venus returns to Libra by a little over two degrees, and in eight years by almost five degrees and naturally somewhat longer than three weeks. Venus weaves her magic with the precision of a metronome.
Venus favours Libra and Scorpio for longer than usual. Venus moved into Scorpio September 8 and stays in this sign until November 7, and comes back for an encore beginning November 29 until January 7, 2011. We had even more of Venus in Scorpio back in 2002—Venus was in Scorpio exclusively September 7, 2002 to January 7, 2003. This year Scorpios need to share with Libra (and that will go on for another five decades or so, with the Libran share of Venus’ company growing). Venus was in Libra from August 6 to September 6, and she is coming back for an encore of another three weeks in November; refer to Venus’ travel schedule for details.

Venus and Mars in Scorpio
Wednesday, September 15th, 2010 | astrologer's diary | No Comments
After the busy, productive—despite the detours—Mercury in Virgo period is now being supported by both Venus and Mars in Scorpio. We are getting to the bottom of things, whatever those things might be; nothing by half measures is the Scorpio motto. Venus is that brilliant light in the after Sunset sky and appears to become even bigger in the next few days. On October 8, she stations retrograde and begins her trek backward (yes, only from our earthly perspective; but this is where we live, righ). This time she returns to Libra for the first time in our lifetime. Actually the previous direct station in Libra took place in 1759—yikes—this will be interesting to observe.
If you were born in the last part of October you might feel the energy rather strongly. Listen to your heart for advice. Wonder if the mid-1950s babies with Neptune at the end of Libra get inspired to create something beautiful; that is finally follow their true desires… more about Venus soon.
Busy Days

I have been rather busy today, but did manage to update the www.astrologyguild.com site with upcoming events. Set up my professional Facebook page and with advise from Kelly Surtees began reviving the Facebook page for the Fraser Valley Astrological Guild, which I set up three years ago… how time flies. › Continue reading
Mini blog
Sunday, September 12th, 2010 | Astrology for You, Current Planetary trends, astrologer's diary | No Comments
We are launching mini-blogs at www.astrologyguild.com. I just lauched mine with a Mercury direct topic. I hope you will check it out and write comments. I hope that soon there will be more of the Guild members writing about topics of interest. Mercury will continue to be in Virgo until October 3—so this month is about getting organized and figuring out what it is you want to work on. It all started weeks ago; at the end of July. Mercury is powerful in it is favourite sign—Virgo—things need to be done properly, correctly and also need to be carefully analyzed. This year the Mercury theme overall has been to do the work whether that is with relationships, practical matters such as work or with your own quest for fulfillment. Next year and beginning at the tail end of 2010 the element of inspiration and enthusiasm takes over—Mercury will spend more than half the year in the element of fire. › Continue reading
Back to work and school with Virgo
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 | General information, astrologer's diary | No Comments
I haven’t posted anything all summer long. There are days when I have felt guilty about that; however, it is the first long break from writing columns I have taken in a decade or more… Today Mercury is retrograde in motion, that review period began August 20 and concludes September 12. Mercury and the Sun have their next meeting tomorrow, September 3, 2010. Their agenda will be set for the next two months—the pair meets in Virgo and that spells organization as well as taking care of details. After tomorrow, we naturally move forward with our ideas over the past month or so, because we have clarity about what we do not want. We cannot stop making choices just because Mercury is retrograde! We tend to catch our mistakes during the times when Mercury moves against the norm, which in itself is an optical illusion… but darn it feels, real here on planet Earth. However, note that tomorrow is a good day to send out promotional material, proposals and to renegotiate deals, projects etc. › Continue reading
