Jupiter Review, British Elections;the Astrologer’s Diary
Saturday, May 1st, 2010 | Astrology for You, Current Planetary trends, Venus stories, astrologer's diary
Jupiter is in Pisces for a few more weeks, and returns for a repeat later this year. I finally finished my review of Jupiter for 2010-2011; you will find it at www.astrologicallyspeaking.com/JupiterPisces-Aries.htm. The review columns feature horoscopes and address a longer period of time. For now on my blog I am writing my Astrologer’s Diary. I don’t send notices about every entry—my emails are periodic, and you are welcome to be on my list, just drop me an email. Off the blog you can subscribe to the automated RSS feed and your browser will show updates. Driving home around 9 o’clock the other night from the Langley Quilters’ Guild meeting I noticed once again how brilliant Venus is in the evening sky. When I was walking into our house there was an aeroplane flying toward west (well between west and north) and apart from the flashing red lights Venus’ light was brighter. Venus is in Gemini, which can be delightful for all air signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius). This is a short passage with another 12 days or so left. At the end of this year, Venus will be spending lots of time in Libra and Scorpio; Venus will be retrograde for a magical 40 days and 40 nights. The last time Venus was in this cycle was at the end of 2002. Naturally I will blog about that later in the year, if you can’t wait to know-why not pick up a copy of Venus at the bookstore. The articles I wrote back in 2002 are still on my website www.astrologicallyspeaking.com.
I took up quilting in November 2007; Mars was retrograde in Cancer at that time. I made two quilts in the first couple of months, four more since then and have another half a dozen at various stages of completion. I find my hobby so relaxing and rewarding. After 2.5 years, I thought it was time to join others who are addicted to fabric, quilting and the creation of works of art. The Langley Quilters’ Guild has a show and tell portion of quilts and other projects—I saw some amazing quilts. I am looking forward to their quilting show next week.
I made the black and white log cabin quilt for one of my daughters. (I have four sons and four daughters-gave birth to half of them). I hope to finish my current projects over the next few months so I can work with the zodiacal fabrics stashed in a drawer. There is a similarity to piecing together the astrological story of a person’s life from the planetary patterns and piecing together fabric to create a unique quilt. I do find quilting techniques more challenging, but then again I have been in astrology for decades not just a couple of years.
I finished my Jupiter review for 2010-11 with horoscopes and posted it today. I think this column has taken me longer than any other over the 19 years I have been writing columns with horoscopes. I am off to Osoyoos for a few days of rest and quilting. My office will be closed May 2-7, 2010. I will process chart orders, answer my emails and return phone calls upon my return. This is going to be a computer free week for me.
British Elections
I was watching the news and learnt that there is an election coming up in UK. What awful timing for Gordon Brown. We all sense that change is coming; collectively we are at cross roads. History repeats itself just like the planetary cycles repeat. The Mars cycle that we are still in repeats with similar voracity from 1962-63. Gordon Brown has Moon and Pluto in Leo and transit Mars has been aggravating for him, it is in the area called home and residence-looks like he is moving. His Venus and Mars in Pisces have been barraged by Uranus over the past year or two. He also has a Jupiter return happening, and this one might not be all that lucky. I don’t like his chances of retaining that Prime Ministerial title.
I picked up the Globe and Mail today; it had an article about how the Canadian leader of the opposition is related to the new candidate for the Liberals in Britain, Clegg-both descendants of the Russian tsars, cousins or second cousins…
The planetary patterns are beginning to favour a change in government here in Canada. It sounds like the Liberals are busy creating a new and improved image for Ignatieff. I suspect things will get very interesting in early 2011. I guess I should take a fresh look at the charts for Canadian PM-contenders, but not this month.
