Astrologer’s Diary
Friday, April 23rd, 2010 | Astrology for You, Current Planetary trends, astrologer's diary
Was watching a cooking show with ex-chef hubby, the name sounded familiar, turned out she is on my client list from a few years ago. I don’t really see my clients or students as most of my consultations and tutoring sessions take place over the telephone. That of course is slowly changing as more and more people hook up to Skype. I was pleased that she got the show, when I last talked to her she was amidst those doubts and worries we all have once in a while. I seldom hear from clients when their lives are going smoothly… such is the nature of the work of an astrologer—we tend to guide people at crossroads or facing those equally inevitable ‘tunnel’ to show that there really is light at the end.
Hubby is watching more cooking shows these days. It began with me forcing him to sit through the movie Julie and Julia. It inspired him to get the ‘chef’s bible’-The Escoffier-he had studied from a lifetime ago. We now have a stockpot on the go most days, and he is eager to try out recipes he hasn’t cooked in decades. I seldom have the same meal twice-being able to ‘order’ dinner at home is beyond wonderful. Cooking is not my strong suit.
The news is rather alarming these days. The volcanic ash caused all kinds of flights to be cancelled. Turns out my sister and my brother-in-law were stuck in the Canary Islands a few extra days… Astrologers are worried about the upcoming cardinal squares this June and well into this decade. There are all kinds of stories about the end of the world at the winter solstice of 2012. Saw the first of the many movies to come—2012—wasn’t worth the eight dollars it cost to order the pay per view… I have spent a bit of time in conversation with colleagues about the upcoming planetary alignments—my take on it is that there might be a significant shift in the financial markets in June, but don’t see the end of the world coming. There seems to be more earthquakes and other natural phenomena at present, this might increase over the next few months. Is the next one predictable? I doubt it, my astrological software has hundreds of earthquake charts-each tells the story, but only in hindsight. Astrologers might be able to find a more likely location.
We can expect some personal earthquakes as the planets realign-most of us know that each of us has both disruptive and extremely positive events in our lives. Embracing change is always a challenge, having just moved into what I lovingly call a ‘shoebox’ of a townhouse in an urban setting from a log cabin in the country, I am reminded how much I dislike change. However, we all know it is inevitable. Astrology I find gives us timing tools and helps define the nature of events… I talked about the big changes for myself for about two years-I guess that it is how long it took for me to get ready for change.
I didn’t get a word added to my Jupiter review… still work in progress. Teaching a workshop on Sunday and needed to get my handouts ready. Tomorrow I will be going to a temple! Friends are coming up for the inauguration of a Mormon temple in Langley. The first Mormon temple in Western Canada—I am surprised, we have temples and churches of every denomination in British Columbia and especially in the Greater Vancouver Area. Over the past six months or so, I have noticed all kinds of churches opening their doors in my immediate surroundings. I credit that to Jupiter being in Pisces—-the sign we associate with both the saviour and the victim. I really must make time to finish that review before Jupiter motors onto Aries… not to worry there will be a review this autumn.
Had to stop at the office of my financial advisor today, one of the funds I purchased the day prior, was a high risk one versus medium risk… He is new; I had my previous advisor trained in the ways of an astrologer. I need first trading dates, incorporation dates, etc. Have to train a newbie. I was talking to him about the Gant traders counting days to the equinoxes and solstices to find those optimal trading days when stocks move in the opposite direction. Found myself talking about what I would invest in now if I were more of a risk taker-oil, natural gas, deep sea exploration, drilling, oil sands (actually do this one). When Jupiter is in Aries, any pioneering work and exploration of space and natural resources might be the way to go—-emerging markets.
The Vatican invested funds in research of growing skin cells into stem cells—the potential for providing us the means to have our own bodies heal what ails us. Uranus, which is associated with discovery, is moving into Aries soon. Wonder where you look for companies investing in emerging medical breakthroughs.
By the way, check out Venus in the evening sky, look toward west shortly after sunset (provided the clouds are not obstructing the view. More notes in a day or two.

Thank you for your ‘blog’. It’s great to be able to visit with you this way.
Glad to hear that you are settling in…and yes, you are so lucky to have your own at home chef. You’ve earned it. How many years are you married now?
You are both lucky!
Well, so long for now…Smiles,
