Astrologer’s diary Mercury Rx

I just posted a response to the Mercury Rx piece based on a reader question. Mercury retrograde periods are about reviewing and revising our thinking. It is the planet of communication, commuting and learning—it makes connections and/or fails to make those when moving against the grain. Until April 28 it is about finishing things, reviewing and repairing. We are asked to let go of ideas that will not work. It isn’t the ideal time to begin new activities. However, most of us tend to make new choices and plan a new direction during these periods. It is so intriguing that we know what we are going to do by the time Mercury shiftshapes into its Morning Star phase, but do not choose to act if we happen to know that Mercury is retrograde. Yet many successful enterprises are begun with Mercury Retrograde. Other than signing important contracts or buying cars and equipment with wiring, I tend to ignore Mercury retrograde. › Continue reading

Astrologer’s Diary

Was watching a cooking show with ex-chef hubby, the name sounded familiar, turned out she is on my client list from a few years ago. I don’t really see my clients or students as most of my consultations and tutoring sessions take place over the telephone. That of course is slowly changing as more and more people hook up to Skype. I was pleased that she got the show, when I last talked to her she was amidst those doubts and worries we all have once in a while. I seldom hear from clients when their lives are going smoothly… such is the nature of the work of an astrologer—we tend to guide people at crossroads or facing those equally inevitable ‘tunnel’ to show that there really is light at the end. › Continue reading

Back to work

April 22 is Earth Day this year. The Sun is in Taurus, the first earth sign of the Zodiac. The astrological and mythological words and concepts still permeate our lives. In my area it has been a beautiful sunny day—spring is well under way. I have been penning a Jupiter review, on and off for the past three months. Maybe now that Mercury is retrograde, I will find the time to get caught up and put those thoughts floating in my head onto virtual paper on my blog and website. Mercury retrograde periods are ideal for getting caught up, finishing tasks and handling matters you have neglected. To read more about Mercury, check out my annual review at http://www.astrologicallyspeaking.com/Mercury2010-earth.htm

I picked up Paulo Coelho’s latest book today, the writing about the four elements within the covers caught my attention—elements the building blocks of astrology. I look forward to reading it after I finish the Friday Night Knitting Club. As you may have gathered I moved about a month ago, and the new place is beginning to feel like home.

I have been paying a lot of attention to the Moon over the past four months. The new Moon takes places mid-month and the Full one at the end of the month. I am finding living to the rhythm of the lunar cycle rather rewarding. This new Moon on the 14th of April was in Aries and the Full one will be in Scorpio-time to begin new things, especially related to money and investments. I have been doing that now rather than back in February—Taurus energy of the Sun is rather materialistic, which makes it ideal for seeding something for steady growth. Will work on this topic in little instalments and might even write about investment timing as I am getting ready to join a women’s penny-stock investment group.
