Saturn in Libra

Saturn is the last planet visible to the naked eye. The seasons on Saturn last about 7.5 years—on August 11, 2009 there was an Equinox on Saturn. I would assume Autumn seeing that Saturn is in the autumnal signs now. The picture I have used here was taken by Cassini at our Equinox in September 2009.

New images reveal that there are mountains on the rings of Saturn. These are as high as some of the peaks in the Rocky Mountains, which are 4800 kilometres in length and stretch from New Mexico via Montana, Utah, and Colorado to British Columbia and Alberta. I always remember a drive through Colorado and the awe of seeing the majestic mountains; and I don’t ever tire at looking at the mountains here in British Columbia. The scientists are calculating that the mountains on the rings of Saturn are up to four kilometres high (that’s about 2.5 miles). It makes me wonder what the ancient astrologers/astronomers knew that we are now rediscovering through science and space exploration.

Saturn is the greater malefic in astrology, and many of the concepts we hear associated with Saturn are not pleasant. However, there are tons of positive concepts as well. I happen to like Saturn; it is prominent in my chart, so I really don’t have a choice. Saturn is moving into its sign of exaltation—Libra on October 29, 2009.
