What is a natal chart?
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 | Ask Anne, Astrology for You | No Comments
Natal means birth. This is a birth chart or a personal horoscope. It is very different from Sun sign horoscopes which rely on the sign the Sun is in. A horoscope includes all of the planets and is calculated for the date of birth, place of birth and time of birth. The chart is a 360—degree circle, which is divided into twelve segments called houses. These all represent an area of life. Astrologers commonly use eight planets and the two luminaries-the Sun and the Moon. The planets are Mercury of communication, Venus of love and value, Mars of action, Jupiter of expansion, Saturn of boundaries, Uranus of surprises, Neptune of otherworldly and Pluto of transformation. The planets hold specific degree placements within that circle and form what astrologers call aspects to one another. › Continue reading
Venus in Pisces returns
Monday, April 13th, 2009 | Astrology for You, Current Planetary trends, Venus stories | No Comments
Venus moved back into Pisces on Saturday, April 11 for 12 days! Venus will move direct on the 17th. This is an ideal time to decide what it is you desire and truly want. The last time Venus was retrograde in Pisces was almost a century ago; thus it doesn’t happen often. Pisces is somewhat otherworldly energy, we need to still the mind to hear the whispers of the Universe. It is ultimately about surrender, but now is a great time to send your wishes to the ‘ethers’. There is magic in the stars and we have the innate ability to tap in, if we choose. Mostly we silence those thoughts that seem to spring out of thin air. For the next dozen days listen, dream and spring into action around the 22nd when Mars moves into Aries for six weeks.

Our provincial elections date is fixed (since 2001), the second Tuesday in May at four-year intervals. The Sun will always be in Taurus, and everything else will vary. In 2001 we had a landslide victory for the Liberals or a wipe-out loss for the NDP depending on your take. The There were scandals and the NDP had several short-term leaders leading up to the elections, which was called April 18, 2001 at which time Venus finished her retrograde period-excellent timing for the opposition! This time the writ will be dropped April 14, while Venus is retrograde in Pisces, Mars with Uranus of upsets and Moon in Sagittarius at a 90-degree angle to that Mars-Uranus and about to square the Venus as well. There are winds of change! Some interesting annotations back in 2001 were that Mars was retrograde in Sagittarius, Mercury-Jupiter in Gemini opposed Pluto in Sagittarius and Venus was in Aries, following a retrograde period of forty days that ended the day after the election was called, April 18; that is with a stationary direct Venus. › Continue reading
