BC Budget 2009
Tuesday, February 17th, 2009 | Canadian Politics | No Comments
In British Columbia the budget talk is delivered at 14:30 PST February 17, 2009. Like all budgets, stimulus packages and alike—this one will take time to filter to the designated cause(s). Venus is in Aries, moving slowly toward her retrograde period (March 6-April 17). This tends to mean delays with money. Venus apart from love and romance is about personal finances. She is not well placed in Aries, the sign belongs to Mars. Venus will be at 10°Aries25′, when the budget is tabled and at 9°Aries19′ at the close of polls on Election Day. This will be the hottest debate during the campaign—the budget and all the flaws in it. Venus will return to square Pluto twice still; and when it happened the first time it was about the overruns of the Olympic costs and where was that money coming from. › Continue reading
Venus horoscopes
Monday, February 16th, 2009 | Astrology for You, Current Planetary trends, Venus stories | No Comments
Venus the planet of desire is in enthusiastic Aries for weeks on end—this time we are all looking for inspiration while we re-evaluate what our personal values are. I posted an article about Venus this spring both on my website and on my blog. I have written longer horoscopes from this perspective and these ones will apply all the way until June 2009. The Venus periods at 18-month intervals are about finding true value, both in our lives and on the global scene. Read the individual horoscopes at www.astrologicallyspeaking.com/Pisces2009.htm
Moon and Change
Thursday, February 12th, 2009 | Ask Anne, Astrology for You, Current Planetary trends | 2 Comments
We watch the Moon wax and wane in the course of the month. We are fascinated with eclipses and when we see a full Moon we do look at it with delight. In astrology, the Moon represents change. The Moon has many different cycles linked to it. When she changes sign, form, declination, etc. we experience change. She is also the final timer in astrology. The Moon changes sign once every 2.5 days, at one-month intervals the Moon is full, and two weeks later we have a new Moon. The Moon describes the ebb and flow of our lives as well as gives insights into who we are and why we react to things the way we do. You can find a listing for the year on my website www.astrologicallyspeaking.com. I talked about the Moon’s declination cycle in my post February 10 and in the Canadian Budget item late January 2009. A reader commented on the Moon’s declination cycle, and I thought I should elaborate how this relates to both our personal lives and to what is happening globally. › Continue reading
Financial astrology: Recession, Depression
Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 | Current Planetary trends, Financial Cycles | 7 Comments
Note that this analysis of the astrological cycles as they relate to the world of money should not be considered advice to invest or withdraw from the markets. I am not a stock broker, financial astrologer or an investment advisor. I am an astrologer who is just as worried about personal investments as the next person. I have chosen investments with astrology and it has served me well, however, always in conjunction with financial advice. But I do consider the stock market as gambling. The bottom line with the current planetary cycles, which I will be discussing in this post, is that we cannot expect recovery quickly, 2013 is the beginning of more stable times. Analysis needs to begin with the outer planets, the inner planets give us details, and longer cycles of the outer planets set the tone. The fact that the US has been in recession for a year, resonates with Pluto moving into Capricorn in January 2008—it then moved back into optimistic Sagittarius and temporary recovery ensued. At the beginning of December 2008, Pluto had been in restrictive, pragmatic Capricorn for five days, and reality set in—the acknowledgment of the recession hit the news.
Finding True Value with Venus

“He who wants a rose must respect the thorn.” — Persian Proverb
During our formative years—the first seven or eight years—our personal value system was set, it began simply by choosing what we like and what we do not like. Throughout life we make choices, but our core values were formed early. Our big issues in life are about our values versus the values of others. When we don’t understand how somebody can believe something or do something that we wouldn’t even contemplate, we tend to have problems. In relationships we tend to be drawn toward people, who share our value system, but then no two are alike and we must learn the art of compromise. Where we choose to spend our money, similarly, is based on what we value and is often a source of friction in a relationship. Once every 18 months (and there are lots of astrological cycles with that duration) we need to realign or reconnect with our core values; one of the most persuasive teachers in astrology is Venus—who repeats an almost identical lesson once every eight years.
