Pluto in Capricorn and Mumbai
Thursday, November 27th, 2008 | Current Planetary trends | No Comments
It is horrifying to watch the scenes from Mumbai. The news began as Pluto was moving into Capricorn. In terms of astrology, when the distant, slowly moving planets shift signs, we tend to see mundane events. This was probably the biggest story; however, the impact is huge on people. In order to understand the impact of this potentially destructive energy, we need to observe the news around transition dates. Mundane astrologers tend to be newshounds. Naturally the analysis for potential goes beyond Pluto… there are other major planetary themes at play.
Pluto in the first house?

From Christophe in France: “I was wondering about the effect of Pluto entering Capricorn for Capricorn Ascendant people? My wife is a Scorpio born with ascendant Capricorn and I was interested in knowing what will be the effects from an ascendant point of view.”
The Ascendant is our identity, physical appearance, the attitude we have and how we behave, it represents what wins us favours. If you have transit Pluto in your first house in your personal chart, you are getting in touch with yourself, partly by external force and partly because who you have become no longer pleases you at your inner core. The horoscopes out there, including my own, delineate the potential based on the Sun in any given sign as the Ascendant. You might want to read your Ascending sign for additional clues. Pluto in turn represents transformation, renovation, elimination—a serious attitude adjustment when it is influencing the Ascendant, first house and/or its ruler, in this case Saturn and/or one of the personal planets. Those born in early Scorpio, October 23-29, are likely to have benefits to reap provided they acted on the opportunities back in the mid-1980’s when Pluto was conjunct their Sun. Pluto was in Scorpio 1984-1996. The aspect, as the illustration shows, is a sextile, which 60 degrees. This affords the luxury of making changes rather than having them imposed on us. The Sun is different from the Ascendant, it represents what we are growing into, and as we age, we own more of the facets our Sun sign represents. › Continue reading
Pluto moves into Capricorn

“All you need is deep within you waiting to unfold and reveal itself. All you have to do is be still and take time to seek for what is within, and you will surely find it.”—Eileen Caddy
I decided to launch this blog with Pluto’s ingress into the sign of business and structure, Capricorn. In reality this site has been up for about ten days already. Much the same way, we have been seeing the influence out there in the World. The global economy is in turmoil, we are in either in a recession, depression, or a technical recession, depending on which ‘expert’ or leader we hear discuss the situation. The rescue packages and the government spending in various countries are focused on infrastructures. This is of course a very Capricorn concept as is the limitation and long-term debt these actions bring into our lives.
Pluto moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn on November 26, 2008 at 17:03 PST. While knowing a time is relevant to cast a chart, when it comes to the outer planets—or Plutoids as the case may be—it isn’t about a moment in time. Watching the news anywhere on the globe, the headlines already reflect our changing reality. There are numerous bankruptcies, government bailouts or rescue package in order to resuscitate the failing or faltering global economy. › Continue reading

Well it took extra effort this time, but the Sagittarius column is up on the web in its entirety. You will find it at www.astrologicallyspeaking.com/Sagittarius2008.htm
Next week I will post an article about Pluto in Capricorn on this blog. I must say that this new computer is wonderful, and this time I even managed to install some of the programs even better. Could it be easier from here on out.
Sagittarius Column
Friday, November 21st, 2008 | Current Planetary trends | No Comments
I have loved computer technology for decades, but after my computer woes over the past 3-4 months, I am beginning to wonder… I have managed to post a partial monthly column from a borrowed computer, it is at www.astrologicallyspeaking.com/Sagittarius2008.htm
I am hoping I can get the rest of it up shortly. Computers are wonderful when they work… how would it be if we lost the technology? How will it be in our Pluto in Capricorn era, which begins full force on the 26th? This planetary energy will be the first write-up on my blog and will mark its official launch. Well, back to doing battle with my computers.
Virgos post-Saturn

From Angela in Missouri: “Hi Anne…just a quick question, if it’s not too much trouble. I’m a Virgo and, of course, we’ve all been hearing about the fact that “taskmaster Saturn” is in the sign of Virgo through next year. Okay, my nose is to the grindstone, and I’m doing the best I can…but what I want to know is what big planet comes along for Virgos next, once Saturn is finished pounding us into the ground?” › Continue reading

Send me an email or a post about your astrological questions, note that these need to be general interest not directly about your personal chart. For answers about that I recommend either astrological reports or personal consultations.
New blog

In the course of the past few weeks, Mike of Hilightpress designed the layout and look for my blog. Mike and I also worked together to create a new site for the Fraser Valley Astrological Guild –www.astrologyguild.com. Mike is such a delight to work with and the results are spectacular. I made the banner art for both blogs. Over the next few months I will learn how to manage this blog.
Now I have to decide what I am going to write on this blog. The first astrological posts will appear November 26. My monthly column will continue to published at www.astrologicallyspeaking.com
